Race Packet Pickup and Registration

For All Races:
5:00 - 9:00 p.m.


All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner:
5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  

$7 for Adults, $5 for 6-12 year olds, 5 and under free.   Sponsored by the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center and Trigs.

Marathon Race Packet Pickup:
6:00 - 8:00 a.m. at the Northland Pines Middle School. Busses will transport runners from the Northland Pines Middle School to the start line of full Marathon at 6:45 a.m. and half Marathon at 8:30 a.m. Parking will be available at the school.  The 5K starts and finishes at Riverview Park with registration and packet pick-up at park starting at 9:00 - 9:45 a.m.


Course Hours:


All Journeys Marathon Courses are open until 2:00 p.m.   All runners/walkers must be across the finish line by 2:00p.m. or they will be disqualified.  If this is not possible please consider the race you choose.


Journeys Marathon
Start Time:8:00 a.m.
Journeys Half Marathon/13.1 Mile Power Walk
Start Time: 9:15 a.m.

Journeys 5K
Start Time: 10:00 a.m. (This race starts and finishes at Riverview Park)

Finish Line: Riverview Park
South side of the bridge on Railroad Street in Riverview Park. A bus service(located across the street from Riverview Park at the Eagle River Area Visitors Center) will be provided following the race to take racers to and from Northland Pines Middle School where showers will be available.  Bring your own towel and soap! 

Shuttle bus Hours: 10am - 3pm


Medals to all finishers.


Awards Ceremony:
Riverview Park -- 2:00 p.m.

Plaques awarded to:

1. The Male and Female overall winner of the full marathon (not eligible for age group awards).

2.  1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age group for full and half marathon,

3. 1st, 2nd and 3rd for overall male and female in the 5K and 13.1 Mile Power Walk

Many door prizes.

Food and Beverages:

Enjoy the setting of the Northwoods with Old Wisconsin brats, a weiner, beer and soda products - $$.  Available in Rivewrview Park at the Finish Line

Proceeds from Journeys Marathon support silent sports organizations in the Eagle River Area which include running, hiking, biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and more.  Proceeds also support the Eagle River Area Visitors Center to provide resources to those seeking information on the above activities and more.

Full Marathon
The full marathon course begins in Boulder Junction and makes its way southeast along scenic County K to East Buckatabon Lake Road, then south to East Hunter Lake Road and onto Boot Lake Road, then East on County G before the final leg on Adams Road, Ohio Street and onto Michigan Street - finishing south of the bridge after crossing over the Eagle River into Riverview Park. Finishers receive custom-printed Journeys Marathon moisture wicking T-shirts and    die-cast medals. Race Packet Pickup is Friday, May 7, 2010 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. during the All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner (5:00 - 8:00 p.m.) at the Northland Pines Middle School or from 6:00 to 7:00 a.m. at Northland Pines Middle School on race day, Saturday,May 8, 2010.  Buses will transport runners from the Northland Pines Middle School to the start line in Boulder Junction promptly at 6:45a.m.  Bag and tag will be available at the start line.

This course is open to those 8 years and older.

13.1 Mile Power Walk
Journeys Marathon 13.1 Mile Power Walk is designed for the walker who wants to be scored and listed in the race results. Participants agree to walk the entire course. The course begins on Cty K just east of East Buckatabon Lake Road where the course continues south to East Hunter Lake Road and onto Boot Lake Road, then East on County G before the final leg runs along Adams Road, Ohio Street and onto Michigan Street finishing south of the bridge after crossing over the Eagle River into Riverview Park. This course is open to those 8 years and older.

Kids Fun Run 

This event is a fun way to get your kids (ages 12 and under) started on their way to a fit life.  The kids run laps for prizes.  Water and snack bags will be provided.  Kids can participated anytime between 10 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on race day, Saturday, May 8, 2010. The Start/Finish Line for the Kids Fun Run is at the tennis court in Riverview Park.  No entry fee.  (Riverview Park is the Finish Line for all other races.)  Ronald McDonald will be at the Eagle River McDonalds from 10:00am - 1:00pm.  He will make a special visit to the Kids Fun Run on race day.

Other Information

Aid Station Information: Available at the Start of the Full Marathon, at the 13.1 mile marker (Half Marathon Start) and at the Finish Line.

Hammer Heed (high energy electrolyte energy drink and Water Station Information:  Start of Full Marathon, mile markers 3, 5,7,9,11,13,Start of Half Marathon, 15,17,19,21,22,23,24,25 and the Finish Line.  Note: mile marker 19 through Finish Line will also have fruit and/or cookies available.

Is this a Boston Marathon qualifier?
Yes, the course will be sanctioned and measured for this year's race as it has been in the past.

Are headphones, ipods or MP3 players permitted?
You may wear your headphones, ipods or MP3 players, however, we ask that you keep the volume AT A REASONABLE LEVEL for your own safety and out of courtesy for fellow participants. You should still be able to hear participants and volunteers in proximity to you. BE COURTEOUS OF OTHERS
and CAUTIOUS OF POSSIBLE TRAFFIC.

 

 


"Bring a New Runner or Walker " Drawing

Any prior entrant of the Journeys Marathon that gets a new entrant to enter the 2010 race can enter their name into a special drawing for a 2 night stay in the Eagle River area. You do not have to run the same race with this person.  You and the new entrant must be    pre-registered to qualify.  Please download and print the "Bring a New Runner or Walker " Drawing form please click here.
